2022.01.22 08:13 MeasurementOk7003 [Online] [5e] [GMT+1] [LGBTQ+] Looking for a group to join in a campaign / one shot
Hi! I'm Emma (NB/23) and I'm looking for a lgbtq+ friendly group to join. I've been playing ttrpgs and mainly d&d for about 3 or 4 years both as player and gm, so I'm fairly familiar with rules and stuff. I do prefer campaigns that are more roleplay focused and not too grim/dark rather than combat focused campaigns but I'm open to anything, be it long-term, short-term or even one shots.
If you're looking for a player reach out to me on Discord! ebi#1584

When games would come out I would watch playthroughs and spoil everything because back then I thought I would never have a console after high school. Now that I have one, I can’t play them because I already know what happens.

2022.01.22 08:13 BrickJoke2 Long labor, unplanned C-section (overall positive)
I had my baby girl about two weeks ago. It didn't go as planned, but I'm overall happy with how it went.
Woke up at 1.30 am with diarrhea and what I thought was Braxton Hicks because I was only 38 + 4. However the contractions soon felt really intense - I was doubled over and couldn't really do anything besides focus on the pain. I tried to track but they were all over the place from three to ten minutes apart. Woke my husband up at around 6 and decided to go to the hospital just in case. When I was there, I was already 4 cm, so I got admitted while my husband went home to get our stuff and get tested. I was miserable in my hospital room and went back to the labor ward to ask for pain relief at 10 am. Started out with laughing gas because I was already 7 cm by then and thought maybe I can stick it out without an epidural. But honestly I'm not sure the gas did anything. An hour later it was just horrible - super fast, intense contractions, I was pretty much beside myself and had my husband fill in the epidural consent form because I couldn't focus on anything. Then the midwife told me I was fully dilated and the baby should be there in an hour or so, so I should probably not have the epidural. It was only around noon and I was ecstatic to have the baby (my first) so quickly, so I agreed and was allowed to push a bit.
This is when it went downhill a bit. An hour later, nothing at all had happened! This time I insisted on the epidural. The 20 minutes until they got it in were the worst, but then it was pretty blissful. I could talk and even drink some water and was just waiting for baby to move lower, which she did very slowly. The afternoon then is a bit of a blur. They had tried to speed things up by breaking my waters and then having me rotate through different positions for hours. At one point I had a fever and was sick, but still no sign of baby. I kept "gently pushing" as they said, and when the second epidural eventually stopped working, maybe at 6 pm, the midwifes had a doctor come in to do an ultrasound and see why things were moving so slowly. Turned out baby was face up and therefore had difficulty moving downwards as she should. Her heart rate was fine, but I was exhausted and they were scared of infection because my waters had been broken hours ago, so they decided to get serious about getting the baby out. So I pushed without epidural for an hour or so and she got far enough that my husband could see her hair, which was weirdly motivating. But things were still progressing too slowly, so then we decided to try the kristeller thing where you push like mad while two people push from above on your belly. That was no fun at all, and it didn't work either.
By then it was 8 pm and I had been fully dilated for 9 hours or so. The doctor came to tell me that if a vaginal delivery was really important to me, they could try pulling her out with a suction cup, but they would do that in the operating room with a surgeon on standby and do an emergency c-section immediately if the suction cup thing would fail. Alternatively, we could just have a c-section right now with spinal anesthesia. I chose the latter, because I was absolutely exhausted and it didn't sound like anyone really believed in a vaginal delivery any more. Also I didn't fancy the potential injuries from the suction cup, both for baby and me.
The last few contractions before the anesthesia hit were awful again because I couldn't push and they felt so useless .. but 20 minutes later they were already cutting me up and we heard our girl cry for the first time at a quarter to nine. She was totally fine and was put on my chest after 3 minutes or so, but I had to hand her to my husband immediately because I was fainting and sick again. So he went back to our room to cuddle, and I joined them half an hour later. She latched immediately and we both had a smooth recovery.
My birth plan was: Baby and I leave the hospital without any lasting damage. So that worked out, but it still was a pretty intense experience I'm not keen to repeat. I was just glad to be in the hospital ... there would probably have been time to safely get us there if I had chosen a home birth or birthing center, but the 15 minutes being wheeled to the operating room were already horrible, I couldn't imagine having to get in a car or ambulance in that state. And also: Epidurals are great, I was very glad to have one even though I made it to full dilation without. Still made a huge difference.

I have had swollen ankles for two days now. I haven't suffered any type of injury that would cause this. It is uncomfortable but not painful. Is this something to be concerned about enough to seek treatment immediately?

2022.01.22 08:13 Anna_Mosity Folks with RA & COVID: Was your COVID treated with monoclonal antibodies (Regeneron, REGEN-COV, sotrovimab, etc)?
Just looking for an idea of what to expect. I'm the long-time caregiver for a dearly loved person with RA who takes Orencia in addition to other medications for other issues (but severe RA is the main concern). There's a lack of layperson info about what to expect, but i know that that's partly because we're in an evolving situation.
Did monoclonal antibodies help you get over COVID, or didn't you see a difference? Was there a rebound effect in your RA, with a flare after treatment or after COVID? Have you noticed a difference in your RA drug effectiveness since then?
Thanks folks. Wishing for best COVID outcomes for all and a cure for RA.
